Poet’s Corner

Inspired by a poem sent in from an avid reader of Moor Times (see ‘A Word From The Editor’) Poet’s Corner was started to encourage people to send in their most loved poem, whether it be well known or in fact written by themselves it makes no difference. The use of language in poetry, and in song, has always managed to touch people in a way that very few things can and invariably we all have a personal favourite. Here are some that readers have sent in. I hope you like them as well.

The Rain

I'm here for the light" - came out the wail

But what she got was the rain

And try as she might, in vain

She produced, quick as a flash, a pail

But more were needed

There were drips and splashes

Pools and puddles

Mud and muddles

"But I'm here for the light!" a cry in vain

For all there were was in Las Alpuharras was, RAIN

RAIN, rain and more rain

And just as there was a glimmer of light......

It came AGAIN! "What?" she cried

It's rain, rain, rain. Oh please don't lie

I want the light, give me the light

I'm here for the light
