Poet’s Corner
Inspired by a poem sent in from an avid reader of Moor Times (see ‘A Word From The Editor’) Poet’s Corner was started to encourage people to send in their most loved poem, whether it be well known or in fact written by themselves it makes no difference. The use of language in poetry, and in song, has always managed to touch people in a way that very few things can and invariably we all have a personal favourite. Here are some that readers have sent in. I hope you like them as well.

15 Brels Worth
15 Brels Worth
was a talkative point –
when it comes to measure
the size of the joint.
Cos was it size?
Or the heady rise?
Or the push to the head?
Or the feet like lead?
No! said the nun
you’re looking in the wrong dimension
it’s more to do with girth and tension!
And(or/of course molecular suspension)
she knew it all! -
when it comes to suspension and dimensional tension
but there’s just one thing,
one can learn – by seeing – to tell.
That it’s (definitely) all to do
With the size of one’s brel.
Cos she knew where she was going
Oh Yeah! That’s for sure
up the Spirits’ ladder –
The place for those that’s pure!
Where brels and stuff
come more into play,
in a sort of an un-
Where they strive to make a better way
when they’re absolutely nothing, to do ‘n’ say,
with the Nows eternal sway!
Gosh! A bell? A brel? A smell?
Of lunch – upon the breeze.
It’s both height and breadth
when I view the depth
in reverent, silent ease.
